Water production on Tinian remains at 100 percent. Water is now stable on both islands, meaning water no longer needs to be boiled for consumption. The percentage of households now receiving water has not been reported. Power Power has been restored to 44 percent of households on Saipan. Power restoration on Tinian is at about 20 percent. Of four feeders, only Feeder 2 is online. SBA disaster loans The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved more than $1.5 million in low interest disaster loans to help business and homeowners recover after Typhoon Mangkhut, and over $25 million in loans in response to Super Typhoon Yutu. Private nonprofit organizations have less than one month left to apply for SBA federal disaster loans for property damage caused by Super Typhoon Yutu. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2018. Transitional shelters Around 200 occupants remain in shelters as of December 6. Tents 1,054 tents have been set up on Saipan and 202 on Tinian as of December 3. Schools Half of Saipan's public school students returned to classes this week while the other half will return Monday. CNMI Public School System Distance Education Program will resume online courses Sunday, December 9. Northern Marianas College reopened this week on the Saipan Southern High School Campus in Koblerville. Food stamps The Nutrition Assistance Program reports that as of Tuesday, 11,209 households were issued Disaster Nutrition Assistance Program benefits totaling $6.9 million. Approximately 1,346 NAP households have received supplemental benefits of $282,713. DNAP was extended this week.
