Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) today joined the Maryland Congressional Delegation in announcing $8,900,400 in new federal funding to help strengthen and expand early childhood education across the state. Funding comes through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5) Renewal Grant Program, which supports state-led efforts to enhance early childhood education. Expanding access to early childhood education is one of the best investments we can make in Maryland's future, the lawmakers said. These high-impact programs make a tremendous difference in closing the achievement gap and putting our children on a path to academic and career success. Our delegation remains committed to strengthening educational opportunities across our state and ensuring that families from every community can access these highly impactful programs.
