The grant was awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to fund the Bisco Hall renovation at the Center. The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago was established to provide a physical facility where everyone in the Midwest can show their interest in and promote Korean heritage. "Chicago's Korean Cultural Center is a hub for the Korean-American community throughout my district and around Chicago, a sister city to Korea's city of Busan. I'm thrilled that the National Endowment for the Humanities was able to make this investment in our area and in our Korean-American community. I will continue to do everything I can to support our Korean-American community and promote local artists," said Brad Schneider. "At the Korean Cultural Center, we are committed to promoting and organizing Korean cultural, arts, educational activities, and strongly encourage cross-cultural understanding that can embrace and empower all people to coexist peacefully. Without this grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the support of Congressman Schneider, projects like Bisco Hall renovation project would be impossible.
