Hillary Scholten (MI-03) through the House Small Business Committee passed the House of Representatives – the POST It Act and the Small Business Contracting Transparency Act. “Small businesses are the heartbeat of West Michigan and the entire country, and these bills are essential to helping small businesses thrive. Scholten. “As a member of the Small Business Committee, I’ll keep fighting to make sure that small businesses have the resources they need to succeed.” The POST It Act would help small businesses stay in compliance with federal regulations by making compliance information from federal agencies easier to locate and understand. Rep. Scholten served as the Democratic co-lead of the bill and helped usher the legislation through the Small Business Committee. The Small Business Contracting Transparency Act would help women-owned, veteran-owned, and HUBZone-located small businesses compete in the federal contracting marketplace, by enhancing great transparency in contract deals.
