David Schweikert issued the following statement in reaction to testimony from Gary Cohen, Deputy Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services during a hearing yesterday on the House Small Business Committee examining delays in program implementation of Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) exchanges. “Last week we heard from small business owners that their insurance premiums are skyrocketing as uncertainty in the implementation of the President’s health care plan is having a chilling effect on job creation and small business growth. While the Administration is full of ‘happy’ talk, they have been unable or unwilling to provide us with the facts and data needed to realistically measure and assess the real impact on small businesses going forward.
