This week, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) voted in support of the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA). The agreement is the product of months of bipartisan work between House Democrats, United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and trade representatives from Canada and Mexico. When it comes to trade agreements, my top priorities are New York's working families and farmers. On balance, the improved USMCA looks like a strong agreement that if properly implemented will meet my demands for the Hudson Valley and set a higher standard for our neighbors to the north and south. That said, I will monitor the impact this agreement has on families and workers in New York who have been hurt by bad trade policies in generations past. Ultimately, the support of our labor unions, local business leaders and our farmers led to my vote in favor of this agreement. I will continue to put Hudson Valley families first, and demand that American jobs and wages are not undermined, said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.
