This grant will fund Families in Transition's Connections to Recovery Program, which will support outreach and care for an estimated 160 homeless individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders annually in New Hampshire. The opioid epidemic continues to pose significant challenges to communities across New Hampshire, and Families in Transition has consistently stepped up to support some of the most vulnerable Granite Staters struggling with substance use disorder and homelessness, said Shaheen. I'm very pleased to announce this grant, which will allow Families in Transition to support homeless individuals and provide them with resources to facilitate their road to recovery. I'll continue to work across the aisle to secure federal resources to bolster community efforts like Families in Transition's in New Hampshire. Families in Transition does critical work to support those struggling with substance misuse, and I am pleased to announce this federal grant to support those efforts, particularly as they pertain to homeless Granite Staters, said Hassan. I'll keep fighting to help ensure that everyone struggling with substance use disorder has access to the treatment and recovery services they need. This federal grant will help Families in Transition provide important services for people who are experiencing homelessness, said Shea-Porter. Congratulations to Families in Transition on receiving this funding, which will help improve access to health care for many who are trying to exit homelessness. We recognized the need for outreach and case management services to homeless individuals who are suffering from substance misuse and mental health disorders and are delighted to be chosen to provide these services, said Maureen Beauregard, President of Families in Transition-New Horizons. Through our Connections to Recovery Program, we'll provide trauma informed, culturally competent outreach services specifically designed to engage individuals with complex needs who may feel reluctant to seek substance use assistance.
