The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act makes historic investments in building and upgrading critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, public transit, broadband, and drinking water systems. “As a former County Council Member, I know first-hand that America’s infrastructure is in desperate need of repair,” said Rep. Brown. “That is why I am proud to support the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which will help fix our crumbling roads and bridges, upgrade our public transit systems, and expand access to high-speed internet service. This bill shows that we can come together in Congress and work across the aisle to deliver results for the American people. Today, we are passing legislation that will immediately benefit Northeast Ohio, all while creating good-paying, American jobs.” Among its provisions, the package includes: $110 billion for roads, bridges and major infrastructure projects; $89.9 billion for public transit; $65 billion to expand access to reliable, high-speed internet; $55 billion to deliver clean water to American families, including dedicated funding to replace lead service lines and the dangerous chemical PFAS; $17 billion for port infrastructure and $25 billion for airports to address repair and maintenance backlogs; and $7.5 billion to support electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-06T20:30:49Z |
