This funding was authorized by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, signed into law by President Biden on November 15. Rep. Brown supported House passage of the bill on November 5. “Access to safe, reliable drinking water is a basic human right, not a privilege. Thanks to the leadership of President Biden, Ohio will receive $242 million in 2022 alone from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to upgrade water infrastructure and remove dangerous lead pipes across the state,” said Rep. Brown. “I was proud to support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which is already delivering results for Northeast Ohioans and ensuring our children grow up healthy and strong. This funding is just the beginning of the historic and long overdue investments that will be coming to our communities and our state.” The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law included $50 billion for the Environmental Protection Agency to improve water infrastructure.
