Their bipartisan legislation, the ACCESS Rural America Act, cuts through red tape to encourage investment in broadband infrastructure for rural and tribal communities in Arizona. High-speed broadband internet strengthens our rural communities with improved access to health care, better schools, and more jobs,said Congresswoman Sinema.We're working across the aisle to expand broadband to doctors' offices, schools, homes, and businesses across our state, unlocking the full potential of Arizona's rural communities. Our plan drives investment in rural broadband, cuts Washington red tape, and improves essential infrastructure in every corner of Arizona. Access to broadband helps rural communities provide quality, affordable health care, improve educational opportunities, and boost local economies to create new jobs and businesses. However, many Arizona communities continue to struggle with broadband access. Nearly 900,000 Arizonans have limited or no access to high-speed internet. In some tribal areas, broadband is only available to five percent of the population. Sinema and Duffy's legislation seeks to bring high-speed internet to rural, remote, or high-cost areas by removing unnecessary regulations on companies making broadband investments in those areas.
