I also support states’ rights to set their own reasonable gun policies. In Arizona, we like our freedom and we made our gun laws accordingly. We shouldn’t tie ourselves to other states’ firearms laws, especially when doing so could have dangerous, unintended consequences for Arizonans. Nearby states have laws with which Arizonans do not agree, like allowing convicted stalkers to carry concealed firearms. Unfortunately, this bill allows convicted stalkers to conceal and carry in Arizona, putting domestic violence survivors at risk. This bill also allows guns in Arizona schools, which Arizonans of both political parties have repeatedly rejected. This bill also makes law enforcement officers’ jobs more difficult and more dangerous.
