Sinema joined with 22 other members of the House Financial Services Committee to urge that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau restore critical protections for active-duty servicemembers and their families from predatory lending practices and credit gouging. "Honoring our servicemembers and their families must include enforcing the laws that protect them from financial predators," said Congresswoman Sinema. "That's why we're calling on the agency to restore these critical protections and protect Arizona's military families." The Consumer Financial Protection Bureaurecently discontinued the supervision of regulated entities for compliance with theMilitary Lending Act, neglecting its responsibility under the law to protect servicemembers and their families. Sinema will serve on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee when she is sworn in to the Senate in January and has pledged to continue her work on behalf of Arizona veterans, servicemembers, and military families.
