Elissa Slotkin (MI-08) released the following statement regarding the significant cyberattack carried out against government and private networks: I am deeply concerned by the ongoing penetration of U.S. government and corporate computer networks by a sophisticated foreign attacker. I have been monitoring this situation carefully since last week, and after receiving a classified briefing yesterday, two things stand out to me. First: it's clear that we have a lot of work ahead of us to protect our country's cybersecurity. On the House Armed Services Committee, we made the NDAA one of the most significant cybersecurity bills to ever hit the President's desk. It specifically strengthens our ability to hunt for these very same threats across federal networks, and helps the Pentagon protect our national security systems. So, the President should end his veto threats and sign that bill. Second: We have to strengthen our defenses against cyber threats, while also making clear that those who try to attack us will be held accountable.
