Soto on NYC Times Square Attack | 2017-12-12 | 2017 | 2017-12 | Democrat | House | FL | Darren Soto | S001200 | soto.house.gov | legacy | Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) said the attempted terrorist attack in New York on December 11 was a reminder of how important the nation's national security and defense are from preventing these attacks from happening: "We are reminded of how important is it to have a strong foreign policy and defense of our nation in our homeland." "Thankfully there were no casualties which made it less devastating. But it still shows that we, as a country, are vulnerable to terrorists. We must remain vigilant. Thanks to the New York Police Department and all the First Responders for your brave work in keeping Americans safe! Rep. Soto also mentioned we should continue to support allies in the Middle East to defeat the terrorist groups. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
