This bill will also require additional training and education for caretakers participating in these programs. Sen. Stabenow has been a long-time supporter of the Child Care and Development Block Grant program and called upon lawmakers to support the program earlier this year. "Today's vote is great news for families across the country," said Stabenow. "Families who are trying to juggle jobs and child care need to know their children are getting safe, healthy, and nurturing child care. By strengthening safety standards and training for child care workers, we are making sure children are getting the best possible start in life."
