First Nations Community HealthSource received $1 million in FY23 for behavioral health expansions, and the Albuquerque Adult Learning Center received $600,000 in FY23 for their newest program, the Solar Integrated Education & Training Program. The Congresswoman has been a champion for increasing access to education for all New Mexicans. Earlier this year, Rep. Stansbury and Sen. Martin Heinrich co-lead the Postsecondary Student Success Act of 2024 that will award colleges and universities with the funds for a variety of evidence-based practices that support student retention, completion, and success. She also co-sponsored the College for All Act of 2023 that expands access to higher education through eliminating tuition and required fees for eligible students, revising the Federal Pell Grant program, and reauthorizing certain programs to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds. "We are incredibly grateful to Congresswoman Stansbury for supporting us in our mission to empower adults through education," said Gloria Rael, Executive Director for Albuquerque Adult Learning Center. "Each year, our programs are life-changing for our students, setting them up for brighter futures and greater career success. With the addition of our new Solar Integrated Education and Training Program, we're able to expand our offerings and create additional education to career pathways." During her time in Congress, Rep. Stansbury has focused on increasing equity and access to healthcare services, and overall support for Tribal Nations across the country. Last year, she co-sponsored the Urban Indian Health Confer Act that requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to confer with urban Indian organizations regarding health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives living in urban areas.
