He will be the only Arizonan to serve on either. As Vice Ranking Member on Transportation and Infrastructure, Stanton will continue to focus on implementing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to ensure federal investments reach Arizona communities and working to protect and secure the state’s water future. He will also play a critical role in shaping key legislation coming before the committee this Congress, including the five-year reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration. “I’m honored to be selected to help steer the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee at this critical juncture. Fresh off one of the most productive stretches in this Committee’s history, I’ll continue working across the aisle to make sure Arizona receives its fair share of federal infrastructure dollars,” Stanton said. On the Foreign Affairs Committee, Stanton will work to expand trade and international commerce, protect Arizona’s economic relationship with Taiwan, combat China’s aggression in the Pacific, as well as address the root causes of migration that have led to a humanitarian crisis at the southern border. “Our state’s economic interests are increasingly global, and Arizonans need a strong voice focused on improving relationships with our largest trading partners and protecting foreign investments in Arizona’s growing semiconductor industry,” Stanton said. Stanton worked to pass the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement through the House in 2019 and led 19 trade missions as mayor of Phoenix to Mexico and Canada to rebuild trade relationships.
