Of this funding, Stauber stated, "During my time as a law enforcement officer, I saw the devastating impact that sexual violence and domestic abuse has had on women and families living in our communities. This is an issue we must take seriously, which is why I'm happy to announce this important investment being made in Minnesota's Eighth District. Earlier this year, I voted in favor of reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, which supports these organizations in their mission to combat violence against women, and I remain committed to advocating for programs that support victims and survivors across Minnesota." The breakdown of the money is as follows: Anishinabe Legal Services in Cass Lake will receive $600,000. Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in Cass Lake will receive $810,821.
