Following the event, Steil released the following statement congratulating this year's winner. "Congratulations to Sonakshi Giri from Franklin High School, winner of the 2025 App Challenge, for her app, RideRight. Creating an app takes time, skill, patience, and planning," said Steil. "The App Challenge is a great way to promote STEM education and teach students how to be innovative." Sonakshi Giri and her app, RideRight, is the winner of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. RideRight estimates a user’s blood alcohol content (BAC) using factors such as age, sex, weight, alcohol type and amount, and time since consumption, then indicates whether it is safe to drive based on age- and location-specific laws, and advises how long to wait if it is unsafe.
