Read the letter here. "I have heard directly from many people in Southeast Wisconsin who are not receiving clear information from the SBA. Even when my own office reaches out to the SBA to help these individuals, we hear conflicting answers that add to the confusion. With "Help Wanted" signs on every Main Street and employers struggling to keep their doors open, the SBA is vital to providing capital. The SBA must provide accurate, timely information to serve the American people. I call on the Administrator to immediately address the lack of communication and correspondence from the SBA," said Steil. Steil and his office have heard from numerous individuals who receive conflicting answers from SBA customer service representatives. Complaints include constituents having to repeatedly resubmit the same documents. Further, constituents often receive mixed messages regarding the process of completing loan applications and the material needed to submit. Steil and members of the delegation write, "In the last several months, our offices have inquired with the Madison and Milwaukee SBA District Offices and the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs (OCLA) on behalf of our constituents. However, we have received limited information in response to these inquiries. For example, for questions on the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, we are informed by the OCLA that they are checking with the "disaster folks." However, no further information or follow-up response is provided. Subsequent inquiries are sent requesting the status and most cases now remain unanswered." In addition to requesting a congressional briefing to provide further guidance and answer staff's casework questions, Steil and members specifically ask: 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-06T20:03:51Z
