| https://stephaniemurphy.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=930 | Murphy Announces $1.7 Million Federal Investment in Childrens Home Society of Florida | 2018-12-07 | 2018 | 2018-12 | Democrat | House | FL | Stephanie Murphy | M001202 | stephaniemurphy.house.gov | legacy | U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy today announced that the Children's Home Society of Florida (CHSF), based in Orlando, has received a $1.7 million federal investment to support its mission of preparing children to succeed in life. The grant, provided under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Head Start Program, will fund CHSF's early childhood development initiatives. The Children's Home Society of Florida has been working to empower our children and families for over 116 years, and I'm pleased to see it is receiving this federal investment for its critical mission, Murphy said. The evidence is clear that smart and targeted investments in early childhood development boost opportunities for children, reduce crime, increase employment, and improve overall quality of life in the community. We must keep fighting to ensure that all children, regardless of their zip code or parents' income, have the support necessary to achieve their full potential. The Children's Home Society of Florida, established in 1902, is one of the oldest and largest statewide organization devoted to helping children and families. CHS annually serves more than 50,000 children and family members throughout the state. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
