Unfortunately, I was unable to attend today's event on Manasota Key that had been planned for weeks, due to the Democrats' partisan impeachment charade, scheduling a vote for today at 10:00 AM at 11:30 PM last night, with no notice to Republican members, said Congressman Steube. I am pleased that Colonel Kelly was able to meet with members of my staff and representatives from Sarasota and Charlotte counties to discuss beach erosion and shoreline protection, continued Steube. My commitment to the preservation projects on Manasota Key is steadfast and I look forward to continuing to work closely with the counties and the Army Corps to ensure the funding needed to protect these beaches is secured. Congressman Steube was scheduled to host a roundtable and beach tour with local leaders, as well as ACOE Jacksonville District Commander Colonel Andrew Kelly, but due to the decision of Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) to postpose a vote on Articles of Impeachment in the House Judiciary Committee, Congressman Steube was unable to attend the event. I regret that a 5-minute vote on partisan Articles of Impeachment kept me away from such an important local event, but I remain committed to this project and look forward to visiting Manasota Key in the near future, concluded Steube. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
