Gregory Steube S001214 steube.house.gov steube https://steube.house.gov/category/press-releases/page/ scraper Rep. Steube Leads Letter to House Appropriations Committee Urging Emergency Funding in Response to Hurricane Ian WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) yesterday led a letter to the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee urging prioritization of an emergency supplemental appropriations package in response to the destruction of Hurricane Ian. The lawmakers wrote that Hurricane Ian left a devastating impact on their constituents saying, “As you know, this category four hurricane is one of the most catastrophic and deadly hurricanes to make landfall in Florida in the last 50 years. It has left many communities without basic needs, such as food, water, power, and shelter.” The lawmakers continued, “We ask the House Committee on Appropriations to urgently work with the Florida delegation in drafting an emergency supplemental appropriations package as we accumulate damage assessments. We ask that you exclusively focus on recent hurricane disasters in this package, and free from any language that is not directly related to the hurricane relief and recovery efforts.” 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-08T03:20:33Z
