Stevens	S001215	stevens.house.gov	stevens	https://stevens.house.gov/media/press-releases	scraper	WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement. “Today, I voted to pass the USMCA, a trade agreement that I worked to strengthen for our middle class and all of Michigan’s manufacturers,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “Trade with Canada and Mexico supports more than 36,000 jobs in Michigan’s 11th District, and more than $3.6 billion in goods and services from Michigan’s 11th District were exported to Canada and Mexico in 2017. This incredible, bipartisan compromise positions Michigan’s 11th District to compete globally and succeed. The agreement is much stronger today than it was when it was unveiled and I look forward to seeing USMCA become law.” Congresswoman Stevens was one of 14 House Democrats to push for a vote on the USMCA in July. As Co-President of the freshman class, Congresswoman Stevens convened a meeting between United States Trade Representative Ambassador Robert Lighthizer and freshman lawmakers.
