These are not Democratic or Republican issues — they are principles of the country we live in,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I’m grateful for the work of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 711 as the voice of combat wounded. The Purple Heart Vietnam veterans we’re honoring today exemplify our nation’s best, and it’s our duty to ensure that we take care of our veterans when they return home.” Last Congress, Leehelped pass the bipartisan PACT Act to expand health care to veterans exposed to toxic substances during their military service, whichjust awarded its one millionth veteran and survivor disability compensation claim. Lee is alsoleading legislation to implement more comprehensive, systems-focused suicide prevention programs for veterans across the country.
