This is not rent control, it’s a tax disincentive. Throughout history, the government has provided tax write-offs to incentivize corporate investors to develop certain industries. Why should it not eliminate those write-offs when those corporations make record profits while hardworking Americans struggle to put a roof over their head? Federal resources should go toward building new housing, mortgage relief, freeing up federal lands for affordable housing, and helping lower rents — not to corporate shareholders. “This work builds on my bipartisan bill to expand housing projects on public lands, and Rep.
