One year ago, UNLV students and faculty were instructed to RUN-HIDE-FIGHT. They barricaded themselves behind classroom doors, hid under their desks, and texted their family ‘I love you.’ By day’s end, three faculty members were taken from us: Patricia Navarro-Velez, Jerry Chang, and Naoko Takemaru. “We must end this sick cycle of gun violence, and it can never be normalized. This was not normal last year and it is not normal today. In Congress, we have passed historic gun safety legislation, but it’s not enough. We have to honor all those we lost with more action.” ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z | 2026-04-07T22:13:55Z |
