https://susielee.house.gov/media/press-releases/passed-committee-lee-horsford-bipartisan-bill-restore-full-gaming-loss PASSED COMMITTEE: Lee, Horsford Bipartisan Bill to Restore Full Gaming Loss Deduction 2026-09-16 2026 2026-09 Democrat House NV Susie Lee L000590 susielee.house.gov susielee https://susielee.house.gov/media/press-releases scraper WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Ways and Means Committee passed the FULL HOUSE Act, led by Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) and Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04). The legislation would restore the long-standing rule allowing the full deduction of gaming losses against winnings. “Last summer, Republicans limited the gambling loss deduction in their so-called Big Beautiful Bill to help pay for tax cuts for the wealthy. Meanwhile, our workers and small businesses pay the price. Nevadans have been clear: you shouldn’t pay taxes on money you never earned — that’s exactly why we fought to reverse this harmful provision,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “I’m glad to see our fix pass out of the House Ways and Means Committee and move one step closer to the finish line. Rest assured, we won’t stop fighting until it’s signed into law.” For decades, the Internal Revenue Code allowed taxpayers to deduct gaming losses up to the full amount of winnings. However, a last-minute provision in Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill Act reduced that deduction to 90%, forcing people to pay taxes on money they never actually earned. This change threatens Nevada’s gaming industry, tourism sector, and broader economic activity. The FULL HOUSE Act restores the original law, allowing losses from wagering transactions to be deducted in full, ensuring tax liability reflects actual economic reality. ### 1 2026-09-17T09:52:05Z 2026-09-17T09:53:00Z
