Susie Lee (NV-03) applauded the announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services that it has awarded $16,723,421 in fiscal year 2022 State Opioid Response Grant funding to the state of Nevada to support its opioid response programs. This funding will help establish a long-term and recovery-oriented system of care and strengthen school-based activities and overdose education, all while prioritizing health equity and inclusion across communities. "The pandemic only exacerbated the opioid epidemic across the country, and it is vital that our state has the resources to directly address this critical issue and ensure that every Nevadan has access to prevention, treatment, and recovery resources," said Rep. Lee. "I applaud the Department of Health and Human Services for taking swift action to expand access to these vital services and end our overdose crisis." Rep. Lee has been a staunch advocate for expanding access to prevention and treatment services. In her position on the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Lee has consistently fought to strengthen the Drug-Free Communities Program during the annual appropriations process. In fiscal year 2022, Rep. Lee secured an increase of $4 million for the Drug-Free Communities Program to help prevent youth drug use. Previously, Rep.
