As the only Ohioan on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will continue working to bring federal funding home to Ohio’s 13th Congressional District to upgrade our infrastructure,” said Rep. Sykes. "Public safety is the top priority for my administration and this funding will undoubtedly make our city's rail crossings safer for everyone," said Akron Mayor Shammas Malik. "I am thankful to Representative Sykes for her continued advocacy on behalf of our community." The grant will be used to continue to improve high-level rail at-grade crossing and bridge improvements throughout the City of Akron. This will improve the safety of our community by making crossings more visible.
