Garcia (TX-29) released the following statement in response to the opinion by the Senate Parliamentarian against the immigration reform provisions proposed in the Build Back Better Act: "I am deeply disappointed by the Senate Parliamentarian's opinion which disregards the immense economic contributions of immigrants to communities across the country. Immigrants are essential workers, business owners, and taxpayers who contribute every day to their local communities. Immigration reform would allow them to contribute even more and live with stability and peace of mind to pursue their American Dream. This fight is not over.
