This vote on the Continuing Resolution, H.R. 5371, passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 222-209 following its Senate passage on November 10th by a vote of 60-40. “While Senate Democrats voted 14 times over the past month and a half to deny pay to federal employees, military personnel, and vulnerable Americans, Republicans have proven that we’re the ones who have the backs of hardworking Americans,” said Congressman Taylor. “Ohio families, small business owners, and farmers have shouldered the burden of this unnecessary shutdown for far too long, and I’m elated to finally open up our federal government so it can get back to work for the Americans it was designed to serve.” The federal government shut down on October 1, 2025, after Congress was unable to pass legislation funding government operations for the new fiscal year.
