Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03) today voted to extend government funding through January 19, 2018. Tipton released the following statement after the Continuing Resolution passed in the House: I voted to pass the Continuing Resolution today because failure to pass this measure would have resulted in a government shutdown. Shutting down the government does not benefit anyone. Additionally, over the past few months I have received calls from folks all over Colorado urging those of us in Congress to reauthorize funding for the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP). While my colleagues and I in the House voted to keep CHIP funded until fiscal year 2022, the Senate has somehow still failed to act.
