Titus Statement on Passage of Farm Bill 2018-12-13 2018 2018-12 Democrat House NV Dina Titus T000468 titus.house.gov     legacy December 12, 2018 Washington, DC Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District released the following statement on approval of the Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 2, Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, better known as the Farm Bill: The final Farm Bill agreement is a victory for families, animals, and the environment. The legislation rejects House Republicans' cruel cuts to SNAP and instead makes investments in farmers markets and food banks to boost nutrition among families and seniors. The Farm Bill protects animals by incorporating a number of bills that I support to make killing cats and dogs for human consumption a crime, help survivors of domestic violence protect their pets, and extend the federal prohibition on animal fighting to all U.S. territories. In addition, the agreement removes dangerous attacks on the Endangered Species Act that would have imperiled wildlife in Nevada and across the country. Lastly, the legislation lifts restrictions on legalized hemp research and production, a breakthrough that I have long supported. I am proud of these hard-fought victories and pleased to vote in favor of the final agreement. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
