The CAC is an annual competition for middle and high school students and is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. “As careers in computer science and coding continue to grow, it's important to create opportunities for students to advance their passion and skills in this field. I’m excited that students in our community can once again participate in the Congressional App Contest," said Congressman Turner. "I encourage all middle and high school students to challenge themselves and apply, and I look forward to seeing the apps that these talented students create." Students within Ohio’s 10th Congressional District compete against each other by creating and exhibiting an original software application, or “app,” for the web, PC, tablet, mobile, or other platform of their choice. Winner(s) will be selected by a panel of judges drawn from the local community and honored by Congressman Turner. The winner(s) will then be invited to Capitol Hill for the annual #HouseOfCode event to present their apps to Members of Congress and have their apps be eligible to be featured on display in the U.S. Capital building, on house.gov, and on the Congressional App Challenge website. Students may work individually, in partners, or as a team (up to four). Any student that lives in Ohio’s 10th district or attends school in the district is eligible to participate.
