During the visit, Vasquez met with Deputy Chief J.J. Griego to tour the facility and learn more about its role in improving officer response and crime prevention capabilities. The Real Time Crime Center provides information to officers in the field to enhance the Albuquerque Police Department’s situational awareness and decision-making. This year, Vasquez requested $1,184,000 in Community Project Funding for the upgrades to the Center to help keep Albuquerque safe. “Our budget is a statement of our values, that’s why I’m working with local leaders and partners to bring home much-needed federal investments,” said Vasquez. “I’m proud to fight to secure nearly $1.2 million in Community Project Funding for Albuquerque Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center. I recently visited the Center and was impressed by their innovative ways to keep our communities safe. I’m in office to serve New Mexicans and that means assisting in getting the necessary funding for our state to thrive.” Vasquez is committed to public safety throughout the district. Vasquez leads the Auto Theft Prevention Act in Congress, which addresses the alarming rise in vehicle thefts across New Mexico and the country. Albuquerque consistently ranks among the top cities in car theft rates.
