This legislation supports our troops who put their lives at risk to defend our freedoms and helps bolster our national defense at a time when global bad actors, including China, Russia, and Iran, are working to take advantage of instability in the wake of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. "Included in this legislation is funding for 12 Super Hornets, planes that are made here in St. Louis and support thousands of local jobs. These critically important aircraft have been part of the fabric of our community for decades, but plans to cut funding for this program put manufacturing jobs in our region at risk. I fought to ensure these Super Hornets would remain in the NDAA and am proud to work with local advocates to ensure they continue to be built here in Missouri. "The NDAA also included a number of my initiatives that will support victims of human trafficking, combat global human rights abuses, and protect women and children who are particularly at risk of violence."
