(MO-05), Sam Graves (MO-06), Billy Long (MO-07) and Jason Smith (MO-08) - in a letter to President Joseph R. Biden in support of Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the City of St. Louis, as well as St. Louis, St. Charles, and Montgomery counties in Missouri impacted by severe weather and flash flooding. Last week, St. Louis and Eastern Missouri experienced the highest rainfall in recorded history in 24 hours, causing flash flooding leading to hundreds of home evacuations, reports of submerged vehicles and, tragically, two deaths. A Major Disaster Declaration from the Biden administration would unlock much-needed federal resources, such as debris removal, infrastructure and home repairs, rental assistance, and small business disaster loans.
