Greg Walden's call for a federal Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation into the failure of Cover Oregon was featured on Special Report with Bret Baier on Fox News last night. If this were a car you'd been sold, you'd get it taken back under the Lemon Law. The car dealership would be held accountable, Walden said in reference to the troubled health exchange website, which has been granted over $300 million by the federal government. Last week, Walden, who chairs the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, and three other top leaders on the Committee, requested that the GAO investigate Cover Oregon. Although the roll out of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) has been problematic nationwide, no state has had more complications than Oregon. The state of Oregon's exchange website, Cover Oregon, has been such a technological failure that the site was unable to enroll anyone months after the start of the open enrollment period, the leaders wrote in the letter.
