Each month, Walker awards a constituent, business, or organization for displaying extraordinary acts of service and for making a difference in the lives around them. For more than two decades, Dr. Joe's heart and leadership hasgreatly impacted thousands of people throughout Central North Carolina, serving his community with integrity, grace and success, Walker said. Over the course of six years, I was privileged to see firsthand the difference Dr. Joe has made, and am honored to present him with this award. Dr. Joe Giaritelli has been the Senior Pastor of Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro for nearly 22 years. Affectionately called Dr. Joe by many of his friends and family, he has been in the ministry for 35 years. While in Greensboro, he has led multiple efforts to realize his vision for Lawndale as a leader in serving the community. He has been involved in implementing dozens of community ministry programs, including the church's annual Thanksgiving Feeding the 5000 event. The church continued thetradition this year, giving out turkeys during a drive-up event to families in need. Dr. Joe Giaritelli and his wife, PJ, live in Greensboro.
