Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) today supported requiring all members of Congress and their staff to undergo training aimed at preventing harassment and discrimination in the congressional workplace. Every workplace should be free of harassment, discrimination, and mistreatment and Congress is no exception, Congresswoman Walorski said. My office has long had a strict, zero-tolerance policy against harassment and discrimination, but we need greater transparency and accountability in Congress. The measure we passed today is a critical step toward ensuring all House employees are treated with dignity and respect, and soon I will introduce legislation to prevent the use of taxpayer dollars to cover up wrongdoing. BACKGROUND H.Res. 630 requires each member, officer, and employee of the House of Representatives to undergo a training session on workplace rights and responsibilities each session of Congress. Walorski was a cosponsor of the bipartisan resolution, which passed the House by unanimous voice vote.
