The appointment of Rev. Mjumbe acknowledges the diversity of the faith communities in the 12th District. Rev. Serving as pastor of the Witherspoon Street Presbyterian Church of Princeton, New Jersey, the Reverend Lukata Mjumbe is a veteran advocate for racial, economic and environmental justice, the protection of immigrants, criminal justice reform and the development of public policy strategies to end community violence. He tirelessly serves as an interfaith community organizer in the city of Trenton and across the religiously diverse communities of the 12th Congressional District. As a spiritual and community leader he is called to bring together people of different traditions who are deeply committed to freedom and justice. For almost two decades, Mjumbe has served as a public policy advisor to members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Alabama to New Jersey and is committed to holding elected officials accountable to both people and principles.
