Justin Amash (R-MI) received the ���Taxpayers��� Friend Award��� for his votes to cut federal spending, taxes, debt, and regulation. The National Taxpayers Union (NTU), which gave Amash the award, ranked him as the congressman with the best record on fiscal issues in the Michigan delegation and the second best in the entire House. ���I work every day in Congress to limit the size and scope of the federal government. With $17 trillion of federal debt, we have a moral obligation to our children and grandchildren to put the government on a sustainable path,��� said Amash. ���I���m honored for the second year in a row to receive the ��?Taxpayers��� Friend Award.��� I thank NTU for the award.��� The NTU Rating is based on every roll call vote affecting federal taxes, spending, debt, and significant regulations.
