Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today announced that he has voted for bipartisan legislation to restore funding to a number of key federal agencies and operations including the Department of Veterans Affairs, national Parks and museums, pay for inactive military reservists, and the National Institutes of Health. “This week the House acted in a bipartisan fashion to provide critical funding to our brave veterans, to reopen our national parks and museums, and allow our National Institutes of Health to admit new patients,” said Davis. “While a piecemeal approach to government funding isn’t ideal, at this time this is the best way to move forward to fund a number of agencies and federal government operations that both Democrats and Republicans can agree on. My hope is that we can return to a constitutional appropriations process and put a stop to the endless cycle of continuing resolutions.” The bills approved by the House this week include H.J. Res. 72, Honoring our Promise to America’s Veterans Act; H.J. Res. 70, the Open Our National Parks and Museums Act; H.R. 3230, The Pay Our Guard and Reserve Act; and H.J.Res. 73, Research for Lifesaving Cures Act.
