(WLNS) - On Thursday morning Congressman Tim Walberg hosted a town hall meeting in Charlotte. And dozens of community members showed up to express their frustrations. Government spending and the possible loss of insurance policies were the biggest issues discussed at the meeting. Though Walberg promised to take concerns back to the house, veterans and retirees say they just want him to stand firm in his promise and represent them. I'm retired on limited income and we're struggling now. And we just got to quit the spending," said Owen Whitkopf, retired. "We have reduced the deficit expenditure for this year down to $630 billion. That doesn't sound good but it's at least better than the $1.3, $1.7, $1.8 and $1.5, trillion of the previous 5 years. So we have to continue moving in that direction get the spending under control. And allow the freedom and opportunity for American citizens," said Tim Walberg, US Rep, Michigan's 7th Congressional District. Walberg heads to Washington D.C. to meet with the house next week.
