We strongly urge you to consider California as the premier location for this new aerospace work. As you are well aware, Southern California has a rich history of aerospace manufacturing and is exceptionally well-positioned to host the Boeing 777x work at the Long Beach facility. In addition, businesses throughout California are ready to support the manufacture in Long Beach through an extensive network of potential local suppliers. In Long Beach, all of the necessary infrastructure already exists and is ready to be used to support the 777x production. From deep water ports to robust rail and highway access, Southern California's transportation infrastructure functions exceptionally well, as demonstrated by the current production of the C-17. In addition, the local workforce is more than ready to carry on the tradition of building great jetliners for the Boeing Company. Boeing has a world-class workforce of highly skilled employees already working in Long Beach both at the C-17 facility and supporting Boeing Commercial. In addition, Southern California features superb universities and community colleges, with dedicated manufacturing and engineering schools to unleash American innovation and provide the future workforce necessary to support the 777x for years to come. We have every confidence that the State of California, working with the City of Long Beach and all the regional partners, will respond with a very competitive application for Boeing to consider.
