The comment period ends January 17, 2014, and a listing decision is due by March 30, 2014. “The Fish and Wildlife Service worked for several months with the five states that would be impacted by a listing of the lesser prairie chicken, and endorsed their balanced plan to conserve the species and protect jobs,” Pearce said. “I applaud them for taking a serious approach to this important issue, and giving us the opportunity to let our voices be heard.
