This is why I introduced and the House passed legislation, the No Subsidies Without Verification Act, that would have protected taxpayers from as much as $250 billion in fraudulent payments, according to one estimate. Verification is commonsense, but unfortunately the President decided to delay verifying eligibility for subsidies this summer in a mad rush to push forward with his unworkable healthcare law.
