The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution ensures citizens the right to be ‘secure in their persons, houses papers and effects…’ – a right that is obviously being infringed on by the agency’s dragnet data collection. This ruling is a step in the right direction when it comes to addressing these concerns. I will monitor this situation closely. Americans deserve common sense reforms to the agency and its practices that empower law enforcement while still protecting the Constitutional rights of all people. Now, more than ever, we need a vote on the bipartisan, bicameral ‘USA Freedom Act’. Fitzpatrick is a co-sponsor of the bipartisan USA Freedom Act [H.R. 3361] and has introduced legislation to defund the parts of the agency that overstep their legal and Constitutional boundaries. Read more about today’s ruling HERE ### Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick is serving his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He represents Pennsylvania’s 8th district which includes all of Bucks County as well as a portion of Montgomery County. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
