Community health centers are bridging this gap so people in Baltimore and throughout Maryland have access to the care they deserve.” Baltimore Medical System and Health Care for the Homeless will each receive $25,000 to expand outreach and enrollment efforts that assist uninsured Marylanders access affordable health insurance coverage made possible through the health care reform law. Last year, Maryland’s 16 community health centers served nearly 300,000 patients. More than a quarter of those patients were uninsured.
